A golden celebration
Last year saw great changes to Alosra. The launch of the Juffair and Nakheel branches were just a few milestones the fresh and friendly supermarket witnessed.
However, one of the biggest milestones was, undoubtedly, the implementation of the new GOLD retail system.
The GOLD suite is used to leverage Master Data Management for a single, unified view of inventory and item data from head office, to warehouse, all the way through to the store. It will provide Alosra with a Best-of-Breed Retail solution, moving from the older Vision system.
Adding a touch of gold to the business isn’t an easy task. A great deal of hard work was put into the implementation process and such efforts were not gone unnoticed.
At the beginning of this month, Alosra, the Food Production Unit (FPU) and IT employees, were rewarded with Winning Hearts awards to recognise all the work and dedication they put into ensuring the transition was as smooth as possible! In a special ceremony at Alosra Amwaj, President & CEO Gordon Boyle and Vice President of Food Retailing & Production, Jaffar Al Asfoor, awarded all employees involved with their certificates.
It was an award truly well deserved, especially since everyone involved with the launch went above and beyond to ensure its success. Teamwork was the essence of the system implementation, further enforcing the core values BMMI represents.
Shinto Thomas, Saif Naseem, Lijith Velli, Ali Hussain, Kalyan Kumar, Edmond Antherias, Ali Zainal, Mohammed Jalil, Jeyaseelan Soosai, Senthil Rajan, Abdul Basit Waheed, Ganesh Kumar, Ivy Diana Bello, Ashiq N. P., Noora Salman, Sara Babar, Hussain Ashkanani, Hisham Almarzooq, Isa Abdulla Ali, Ali Mohammed Salman and Fauzia Fareed were all awarded at the special ceremony.
The change in retail system was integral to ensure the smooth operational continuity of Alosra, especially with the current expansions Alosra has been undergoing. The day was accompanied by smiles all around and delicious canapés from our very own FPU.
Congratulations and well done to all those involved!
