Some of our overseas colleagues paid us a welcome visit recently for the annual Indaba meeting to discuss business developments and train them in their HR related roles.

GSS Ghana HR Manager, Catherine Sowu, GSS South Sudan HR Manager, Farouck Mohammed Elamin, GSS Gabon HR Manager, Paulin Bouti, BMMI Djibouti HR Assistant, Nassim Abdulla and BMMI Iraq’s Senior Accountant, Mohammed Ramzan all hopped on a plane to Bahrain for a weeklong session of full day meetings and workshops.

With the HR restructure in the Bahrain head office, HR teams in GSS across Africa, and in BMMI Djibouti, will now be responsible for looking after all HR functions for expat employees, under the supervision of HR Manager, Greg White. The HR Indaba took place mainly to train our HR colleagues overseas and handover existing responsibilities to them.

The Bahrain HR team revisited the company’s policies and procedures with the GSS HR employees to standardise the processes followed in Africa with those followed in Bahrain.

They were also familiarised with the whole head office HR team and finally got to put faces to the people they often deal with.

Our colleagues had a tour of our offices around Bahrain and even had some fun with the Sports and Social Committee and had the opportunity to play laser tag, bowling and billiards.

On the agenda they also met with the SLG and received a corporate induction in between their workshops and presentations.

It was great to see them all in Bahrain and we hope they make a visit again soon!
