The IMS team are happy to introduce a new set of internal auditors at BMMI. The team organised a training session to get these employees comfortable with the processes and policies, and ensured that they were fully trained with the necessary skills.

The training, which took place at the Diva Hotel on April 27 and 28, consisted of some members of the IMS team, as well as employees from different departments and business units.

The training was conducted by Bureau Veritas’ Certification Manager, Mohsin Baig and focused on internal auditing for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The purpose of the training was to develop the skills and knowledge for understanding the background of IMS as well as to familiarise the participants with the requirements of the IMS standards. Moreover, they were introduced to the principles and practices of IMS auditing, learned how to plan and prepare for the IMS audit and perform the audit as well as report its results.

The session was highly appreciated by all participants, especially the interactive aspects of the training, as well as the group activities. Overall, the training was a success with all 15 participants passing to become Internal Auditors! This qualification will not only help BMMI as a company with more Internal Auditors, but also provides employees with valuable skills for personal development.
