Alosra is ending the year on a high note. Our fresh and friendly supermarket recently received an award from the Ministry of Labour for being one of the best employers at the retail sector for the recruitment, retention and development of local workforce. The ceremony took place at the Crown Plaza hotel on 20 December.

Alosra believes in providing opportunities to its employees that encourage personal development and growth, as well as career and self-fulfillment; a practice it has adopted from its parent company, BMMI.

“Our employees are our top priority, alongside our customers and we are always on the lookout for people who fit our organisational culture, which is very much rooted in teamwork. At the same time, we want our employees to feel appreciated and are always trying to ensure that they are receiving the appropriate training and recognition they deserve, after all they are our brand ambassadors,” explained Jaffar Al Asfoor, Vice President of Food and Retail.

The award does not only recognise the Alosra team but the collective efforts from across the Group in attracting, retaining and motivating Alosra’s employees. This award further reinforces Alosra’s contribution towards Bahrainisation, something it has been recognised for in the past. Alosra strictly believes in being part of the community it operates within and this is just one of the ways that Alosra does so.
