Alosra raises awareness to young children
Members of the Alosra team recently took time out of their busy schedules to make a visit to Early Learners Nursery in Saar in order to speak to the young students!
This visit focused around bringing awareness to healthy eating by providing samples to snack on, as well as, an interactive talk to all the children. Sliced fruits and vegetables were provided by the Food Production Unit (FPU) to bring along to the educational picnic which included carrots, cucumbers, red and yellow peppers, strawberries, apples, and grapes. As each item was being passed around for the children to sample, they were asked to identify the colour, benefit, and category of the specific fruit or vegetable.
There was a great response from the children and teachers from Early Learner Nursery, who expressed their appreciation for the Alosra staff investing the time to come and talk about the benefits of healthy eating.
An activity was left with the teachers, which included an outline of an empty lunchbox along with pictures of the sampled fruits and vegetables they had during the discussion, to identify which ones they enjoyed the most. The artwork was then taken home by each student to show their parents which healthy items can be included in their daily snacks. The principal of Early Learners Nursery showed her gratitude towards Alosra, by including a picture and brief description in last week’s Gulf Daily News newspaper.
The team at Alosra look forward to more educational school visits, discussing the importance of eating healthy starting from a young age and bringing awareness to the community.
Way to go team!
