BMMI wins raft race for the first time in its history!
After weeks of practicing, the BMMI raft race team were in an intense rowing battle at Al Bander Resort & Spa, pushing to beat the 19 other teams taking part.
The suspense was kicking in as Alba and Al Ghalia were not far behind…but moments later, the BMMI crossed the finish line and took home the gold medal in the men’s category!
This is the 40th annual raft race held by the Rotary Club of Salmaniya and the first time BMMI came first place!
The event was organised to raise funds to “beat diabetes” and raise awareness and all participants and spectators had lots of fun, with entertainment and food for all.
Member of the Sports & Social Committee and BMMI raft race team member, Ali Ghurbal was ecstatic. “This is really something to be proud of and the team did a great job,” he said. “It is the first time in BMMI history that we won! We had so much fun and we just hope we stay on top for next year. Well done team. I would also like to thank everyone who came and supported us, we truly appreciate it!”
Another BMMI raft team member, Ali Zainal also shared some nice words about his team members. “It was all T.E.A.M work and I am glad to be part of it. T.E.A.M = Together Everyone Achieves More.”
Well done team and congratulations!
