
It’s going to be…EPIC!
BMMI’s first talent development initiative kicked off this month in the form of a leadership development programme fittingly named EPIC.
Besides the bid to generate excitement, the ‘course’ name is meant to encompass everything we look to our leaders to invest in and excel at: experience, people, innovation and culture. Those are exactly the areas our first batch of participants will be focused on developing with the help of two external development consultants over the next seven months.
The Talent function within Corporate is tasked with making sure our culture is sustained and carried forward with new generations of leaders, as well as ensuring that they foster and practice continuous growth, in order to adapt to our evolving customer and world-economic needs. We want to be able to recognise and engage all the hard workers and others who display promising potential through development, which of course comes in many forms!
This particular development initiative includes 14 employees who have displayed hard work and potential, and who are currently or will in the future be responsible for playing a more critical role. For those of you who may feel left out this year- not to worry! This will be an annual initiative, ever evolving to suit the needs of our business and the development areas of our potential leaders.
In addition to engaging and encouraging great performance through development, this initiative is also being carried out to prepare our existing and future leaders for opportunity. It would be unfair to promote, move or add to the responsibilities of those who are not ready! So when the opportunities do arise, we want to make sure our talent is definitely ready!
