May Day Parade in Gabon
The first of May is a festive public holiday in Gabon and is a massive celebration of the country’s labour force!
An integral part of the Gabonese calendar, May Day focuses on celebrating the country’s workers and addressing labour issues facing the country. The highlight of the day is a truly larger than life parade, where workers from approximately 230 companies march in celebration.
The GSS Gabon team proudly wore their BMMI t-shirts and hats to participate in the highly anticipated annual parade, which is attended by governors and several key officials. The festivities ended with a special ceremony that included speeches delivered by VIP speakers.
It was a truly fantastic day for the entire team who ended the event with a hearty meal they prepared earlier in the day. In the spirit of celebration, our employees also gathered in the GSS Gabon base after the parade for a staff party, where long-serving employees were awarded with medals to acknowledge their hard work and dedication throughout the years.
We hope all employees enjoyed the celebrations and that they continue to live by our Winning Hearts culture day in and day out! Find pictures of the event below.
