BMMI Djibouti is providing medical logistics
In addition to the regular routine orders for the French Base, Military Hospital and local market orders, there is a growing need to cater to the expanding NGO operations in Djibouti, including warehousing and transport of medicines, vaccines and various other medical equipment.
In order to provide the best service, the team has to follow strict instructions with regard to cold-chain requirements. To help enhance the operations, BMMI Djibouti’s Assistant Program Manager, Vipin Sagar, recently flew down to Bahrain to attend a month-long training regarding the implementation of the Vision system in BMMI Djibouti. Additionally, Contract Services & Supply Logistics Operations Manager, Shaikh Rahil, flew down to Djibouti to assist Country Manager, David Hanse, with ongoing operations and to support improvements in our Djibouti warehouse operations.
BMMI Djibouti has also been employing a Just-In-Time (JIT) approach to logistics. JIT is an inventory strategy used to increase efficiency and reduce waste, by receiving goods only as they are needed. The strategy requires an accurate forecast of demand, thus ensuring the most effective and least wasteful level of service and guaranteeing cost efficiency.
Keep up the great work team!
