Mahmood Mohammed displays art in Malja
In case you weren’t aware, our very own Mahmood Mohamed, AVP of Finance, Group Accounting & Reporting is also a very talented artist! His talents emerged at a very young age and when he was only 10 years old he started putting brush to canvas. Triggered by a family holiday that exposed him to the world of street art, Mahmood continues to elevate his craft. He was and still is influenced by the likes of Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, taking popular imagery that he was drawn to, and reproducing it through his own artistic lens.
Mahmood recently participated in an exhibition titled ‘Strata’ featuring thirteen local and international artists that debuted on August 27 at Malja Bahrain, Amwaj Islands. The exhibition, curated by Laila Yafi and Sergio Miranda, is organised in partnership with Studio ACA and Malja Bahrain.
Mahmood aspires to ultimately have his own art space where he can showcase his paintings alongside other young artists. Currently, he paints images inspired by his everyday environment, experimenting with different techniques and mediums.
If you haven’t seen Mahmood’s work, you’re surely missing out. You still have the chance to admire his artwork, so head down to Amwaj and visit the exhibition which is running until September 24. The exhibition should definitely not to be missed as it also features a variety of photography, illustration, video, installation and conceptual art.
