IT’s Senior Technical Support, Yasser Al Latif, has always been a big supporter of encouraging people to follow their dreams. Yasser is known to give words of wisdom around the office, offering his colleagues with a lot of inspiration and motivation. On the 4^th of September last year, he took his own advice and enrolled into the Swiss Business School and after a long year of hard work, he successfully completed the requirements for his MBA degree, graduating with honours on the 23^rd of September 2016. On October 14^th, Yasser had his graduation ceremony at the Atlantis in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Here, he shares his experiences and journey with you all:

I had to study hard to achieve this long-time dream of mine, it wasn’t something that was easy but I would like to take this opportunity to explain to you all my path. This journey has helped me be in the position I am today, one where I am secure and happy.

As far back as I can remember, I remember fantasising about being an entrepreneur and specialising in something technology related, that is why I took Business Studies as my major in high school. My interest didn’t end there either, it just grew and as soon as I got the opportunity to go to university, I continued to focus on these areas of interest, taking Computer Science as my major and graduating with this degree, with great results!

And after finding myself in my current professional position at this highly reputable organisation as “IT Senior Technical Support”, I always felt something was missing. It didn’t take me too long to realise that it was time to further improve myself so I can do more for the company, and that is why I decided to take up a MBA course.

After months of searching and careful research, I came to the decision to pursue my MBA from the “Swiss Business School” based in Zurich, Switzerland, as it was a great place academically and the schedule did not interfere with my work.

After a year of hard work and dedication I graduated with honours, something I am very proud of! During the time I spent studying, I gained great knowledge, both in areas I did not realise I have an interest in and also improved in areas I thought I had already known everything about. I really enjoyed studying and challenged myself every day with new thoughts and ideas. I think I’ve gotten myself into something bigger than I could understand as now I only want to study more. Learning is key and I love it!

My goal is to share this story to let everyone know that nothing is impossible if you put effort into it, no matter how hard it may seem, if you give your best, you will find the way.

I cannot wait to apply my new earned knowledge to work, and make decisions from what I learned.

Lastly, I will advise everyone to look forward and keep learning as, “if you want to change your world you start by changing yourself”.
