Fire Safety Awareness training
Employees from various divisions in Bahrain recently took part in a Fire Safety Awareness workshop conducted by Al Mashreq training.
Participants learned about the main causes of fire in the workplace, the costs of fire for the employer, employee and society, as well as the responsibilities of a fire warden. Furthermore, they learned about the ways in which fire spreads, as well as tips for reducing the chances of fire. The importance of conducting a fire risk assessment were stressed upon, as well as tips for maintenance of fire prevention equipment.
One of the most important parts of the training was learning about the different classes of fire and which type of extinguishers were the best to use for each type.
The participants tested out their newly learned skills in a practical exercise, where they had to choose the right type of extinguisher to put out the fire they were assigned, as well as demonstrate how to correctly handle the extinguisher.
The training session ended with the participants taking an international exam that would determine their level of knowledge and award them with certification if they correctly demonstrated their knowledge about the topics covered in the workshop.
