Health and Safety Week – the 2017 edition!
The IMS team recently marked BMMI’s Annual Health & Safety week with a number of events held from the 24 to 27 of April.
In line with the ILO’s theme, ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’, the team kicked off the activities with a number of relevant sessions.
The main activity was the Blood Donation Drive, which was a huge success, with a significant number of employees participating in helping save lives. The hospital team even expressed how impressed they were with the levels of participation and the organisation of the event.
The Electricity & Water Authority also led a lecture on electricity conservation in the Sitra Canteen, helping drive enthusiasm for our employees to take personal commitment towards reducing our consumption.
In addition, following the success of the traffic lecture last year, another one was organised during the week to allow those who were not able to join the first time around, to attend. Due to the high demand, it was a packed canteen and the Ministry of Interior provided tips and shared knowledge about safe driving in Bahrain. The lecture was conducted in both English and Arabic, and allowed the company to cover a wider audience.
Moreover, the team was extremely happy to see that over 335 participants took part in the medical check up this year, with 89 of us from our Sitra HQ!
The IMS team organised these medical check-ups in BMMI’s major Bahrain-based locations, in coordination with the American Mission Hospital. These services were offered to BMMI employees, customers and tenants, who shared their appreciation for the opportunity to gauge their health status.
Following the Health and Safety week, the IMS team would like to take the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to constantly furthering the health and safety of employees, customers and the community in all BMMI’s operations. Well done team, keep up the good work and go team BMMI!
