Managers attended a finance conference
Our finance mangers recently took a plane to Nairobi, Kenya to attend a two-day conference. This intense workshop gave them the opportunity to discuss financial issues and communicate with each other on how best to tackle them.
Beginning with a welcome from Deputy CE & CFO, Ammar Aqeel, on the first day of the conference, there was the opportunity to learn about ‘Finance as a Business Partner’, focusing on how to transform finance aspects to business partners. Our managers also got a lesson in skills needed when carrying out daily transactions. Our very own VP of Finance, Hasan Al Sharaf, led both of these sessions. Amongst the talks, there were also some team building activities and dinners, which allowed employees to kick back and relax with one another.
The second day kicked off with a talk from CEO, Marek Sheridan, focusing on the KPMG review points on the Internal audits and their recommendations. The rest of the day followed with talks from finance managers Ramesh Raj, Gavish and Mohammad Jamsheed Luchman.
We would like to give a special thanks and recognition to those who made this conference possible. A big thank you to Governance, Risk & Compliance Officer- GRC Officer, Hanadi Al Saleh who was a big part in the management of the event and to Human Resources Specialist, Fatima Abbas who lead the logistics and ticketing. Appreciation and thanks also to Project Coordinator, Rita Gakuo, Food and Beverage Manager, Jason Madoo and Colin Mason, Country Manager for GSS Kenya and GSS South Sudan, for their support in Kenya and the delicious dinner those that attended were treated to. Finally, thank you to everyone who presented and attended this event, which made it a true success.
