During the month of Ramadan, every Friday, the Alosra team, together with their BMMI colleagues, voluntarily took time out of their days to distribute pre-Iftar food boxes to those in need across the island.

Together they aim to distribute 1000 food boxes to the less fortunate during the Holy Month. In order to amplify the impact to those less fortunate, the boxes have been distributed to carefully targeted areas with high density.

Our lovely volunteers even involved their families. Corporate Communications & CSR Supervisor Mohamed Algarf took his nieces and nephews out to hand out these boxes and learn a thing or two about goodwill.

“When I read about the call for volunteers in Missing Links, I knew that it would be something that my family and I would love to take part in,” said Mohamed. “My sisters and I wanted to make sure to involve the family’s children in distributing the boxes, to help reinforce the values of giving and helping the less fortunate, especially during Ramadan. On a Friday, we headed to Alosra Riffa and the team there was very helpful, helping us load 100 boxes into our cars. The children helped every step of the way as well. It was a great learning experience for them, especially that this happened on a particularly hot day, reminding us all how grateful we should be for all our blessings in life. I would like to thank Alosra for allowing us this opportunity and to acknowledge all they do for the community. We are looking forward to helping out again whenever there is a chance.”
