BMMI Djibouti welcomes the new U.S. Ambassador
BMMI Djibouti was honoured to recently welcome Mr. Larry Andre, who was recently appointed as Ambassador of the United States of America in Djibouti.
Mr. Andre recently visited the USAID food assistance preposition warehouse for a rapid inspection of the storage conditions of the USAID cargo, and it was the perfect opportunity for our team to present what we do and who we are.
BMMI Djibouti has been delivering USAID cargo to all those affected by droughts and famine in regions of the Horn of Africa and has been playing an important role in supporting humanitarian efforts since the escalation of conflict in Yemen. To date, 500,000 tons of food assistance has transited through our warehouse.
The Ambassador had a look around the different temperature controlled storage areas offered to clients, including the UN organisations and other NGOs, witnessing first-hand the scale of operations BMMI Djibouti is handling.
Mr. Andre shared his thoughts with BMMI Djibouti‘s Country Manager, Yussury Kallouche, and how very familiar he is with BMMI and GSS. He even shared some anecdotes about the time he was based in South Sudan before his appointment in the Republic of Djibouti. He also spoke about his appreciation of the company’s capabilities in delivering its services. “If you want to get the best food in Juba, the place to go is BMMI!” he shared.
Great job to the team and congrats on the continued recognition!
