In 2014, BMMI successfully ventured into Bahrain’s competitive restaurants industry.

With an investment of BD1.5 million, and leveraging on its relationships with beverage brands it supplies exclusively to the market, BMMI opened two unique restaurant concepts within one of Bahrain’s main dynamic dining districts, block 338 in Adliya.

La Vinoteca Barcelona, with its focus on modern Mediterranean gastronomic creations, sophisticated culinary fusions and an exquisite list of beverages, and Café Amsterdam, with its lively European design motifs, eclectically crafted menu and zealous attention to detail, became successes virtually overnight, garnering multiple awards within their first year of operation.

Offering more than just food and beverages, both outlets are open for most of the day and into the night, with La Vinoteca’s authentic and unique modern Mediterranean ambience and Café Amsterdam’s contemporary and comfortable European vibe, drawing in a wide range of demographics from across Bahrain and neighbouring countries.

Together, the restaurants, which are set in a standalone complex, seat a total of 470 people, and share a charming outdoor garden that is often packed during the cooler months and during the restaurants’ combined award-winning Saturday brunches. The space and design of the complex also allows for regular events, such as Café Amsterdam’s  Jazz Festivals and La Vinoteca’s  Spanish Gastronomic Festivals, which typically features flamenco dancers, live guitar music and cultural showcases.

Both restaurants have a proven track record of excellence; La Vinoteca Barcelona won Best Mediterranean Restaurant and Best Overall Restaurant and Café Amsterdam won Best International Restaurant at the 2015 Citi Fact Dining Awards. Meanwhile, La Vinoteca also won Best Mediterranean Restaurant at both the Time Out Bahrain Restaurant Awards and the Bahrain Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism’s Arabian Food and Travel Awards, as well as being a finalist for ‘Best Restaurant’ in the Gulf Region at the 2016 Food and Travel GCC awards. Furthermore, La Vinoteca Barcelona won Best Mediterranean Restaurant and Best Al fresco Dinning , while Café Amsterdam won Best European restaurant, and both restaurants won Best Independent Brunch at the 2016 Citi Fact Awards.

In 2017, BMMI opened its third dining establishment, Alto, a rooftop restaurant and lounge located on the 25th floor of the Downtown Rotana hotel in Manama, Bahrain.

With a history steeped in Arabian hospitality, every aspect of a visit to Alto presents the most refined and welcoming ambience. From the glamourous interiors and the eclectic fusion music inspired by regional and international tunes, to the carefully selected, meticulously prepared Arabian inspired food and crafted cocktails, at Alto, every aspect is taken to the next level. Boasting sweeping, panoramic views of the city, Alto is the ultimate cosmopolitan escape destination, where guests can unwind after a long day and enjoy the company of a sophisticated clientele.
