Alosra celebrates Australia
Alosra, Bahrain’s premium, fresh and friendly supermarket, recently went down under for a taste of Australia!
Alosra Juffair, Saar, Riffa & Amwaj invited customers to sample the various Australian products that Alosra had to offer. Imported from Australia, these products were set up on branded food stands for tastings and were served to customers by employees sporting ‘Celebrate Australia’ T-shirts to reinforce the promotion.
The vast array of Australian gourmet items, from hummus to cheeses, meats, and canned starters, attracted many shoppers during the month. Brands such as Tuscan fresh, Meredith Dairy and Palomba Antipasti were some of the popular choices by customers. In fact, Alosra has become Tuscan Fresh’s largest export of sales!
His Excellency Mr. Neil Hawkins, Australian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and his wife, Mrs Hawkins, visited the Alosra Amwaj supermarket on the kick off day, to witness the exciting offers by Alosra. Alosra Marketing & Product Development Manager, Pavlos Manousos Babiolakis, VP of Food Retailing and Production, Jaffar Al Asfoor, and Alosra’s General Manager, Saif Naseem, gave them a tour of Alosra Amwaj, highlighting the enticing new products in store. David Nettefold, the Second Secretary to the Embassy of Australia, also joined the Ambassador and his wife on the tour, where they were further introduced to the Alosra concept of a premium, fresh and friendly supermarket.
The Ambassador and his wife also visited the Food Drive section to purchase goods for families in need during Ramadan.
“Alosra wanted to gain more exposure on the different premium brands in its stores, and with a growing Australian customer database, the promotion only seemed appropriate,” said Pavlos. “The Australian products are just as high in quality as the European and American products we import, so it’s only fitting for them to be promoted as contributors to the premium aspect the supermarket is renowned for. Plus, it’s always nice for expat customers to see products from back home!”
