BMMI contributes US$100,000 to BH4Somalia initiative

BMMI has donated US$100,000 (BD37,000) towards the BH4Somalia charity campaign, an initiative launched by the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) which has so far raised over BD1 million for the drought and hunger-stricken people of Somalia.

Ammar Aqeel, BMMI Chief Financial Officer and Salah Al Haiki, BMMI Group Administration Manager presented the check to Mohammed Shaikh, IAA Head of Finance and Fatima Jassim Al Thawadi, IAA Development Consultant, at the Ministry of Information offices in Isa Town.

“This initiative has been a huge success, attracting a phenomenal response not only from corporate entities in Bahrain and the Middle East, but also from individuals as far off as the US and UK,” commented Ms. Thawadi. “I sincerely hope that this effort will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of the Somali people during the Holy month of Ramadan.”

Yasmin Hussain, Corporate Social Responsibility Executive at BMMI added, “It is an honour for us to be able to support this noble endeavour and give back to Africa, where BMMI operates from several locations. We take our role as a responsible corporate citizen very seriously and are committed to making a difference wherever possible. It is our hope that more organizations will recognise the pressing need to be globally responsible so as to ensure we have a sustainable future.”
