The BMMI Group donates specialised wheelchairs to Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour and Social Development
The BMMI Group has teamed up with the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to support the community and contribute to assisting individuals with different disabilities as part of the Ministry’s ‘Takaful’ initiative, which aims to purchase necessary specialised equipment to those most in need.
The Ministry provides monthly assistance to differently abled individuals throughout the kingdom who are registered in its database, in accordance with ministerial decision No. (24) 2008 on the eligibility criteria for persons with disabilities. The BMMI Group collaborated with the Ministry on this initiative by gathering information from the database and donating 28 specialised wheelchairs that were customised to meet the specific requirements of each individual recipient.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to support the important initiatives run by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development,” said BMMI’s Corporate Social Responsibility Partner, Reem Al Tajer. “We always seek out initiatives that allow us to contribute in a sustainable way to issues and challenges faced by members of the community.”
"We are extremely grateful to be able to provide these 28 individuals with customised wheelchairs under the Takaful 2 initative. We hope these specialised wheelchairs will help improve the quality of life of each recipient," said Corporate Communications and CSR Manager, May Al Mousawi. "BMMI continuously seeks to find ways to benefit the community through supporting meaningful projects and we hope to continue supporting such initiatives."
