The new La Vinoteca Barcelona opens its doors

The award-winning home of authentic Spanish food in Bahrain, La Vinoteca Barcelona, recently held the grand opening of its new experience following a full revamp on all fronts.

The new taste of Spain in the heart of Block 338 in Adliya was introduced into Bahrain’s dining scene with a ceremony attended by senior government officials, VIPs, dignitaries and prominent members of the business community, as well as members of the Board of Directors and management of the BMMI Group, which owns the restaurant.

“We’ve been constantly incorporating feedback and improving on the experience we offer since we opened in 2014,” said James Johnston, the head of the restaurants division of BMMI.

“This new launch is the most comprehensive update we’ve had, with the aim of creating an even better all-round experience at the new La Vinoteca Barcelona. The new menus still feature some of our customer favourites but are now enhanced with some exciting new dishes from Chef Joan.  The creation of this menu is about delivering authentic, excellent quality food but at prices that make us far more accessible.”

The new revamp to Bahrain’s premier Spanish restaurant is about affordable luxury, with La Vinoteca Barcelona’s new menu being built on balance and choice. Foodies and beverage connoisseurs will find something to delight them, no matter what their budget or taste.

“Our new menu offers a diverse and flexible range of authentic Spanish tapas, mains, desserts and beverages to match your mood. I’ve been inspired by my Spanish roots and the amazing quality of Bahraini ingredients and culture that we are able to infuse into our cuisine,” said Joan Gomez, the restaurant’s Spanish Executive Chef. “I truly believe that when the festive energy of Spain meets the warm spirit of Bahrain, something incredible happens.”

The expanded offerings of the menus come hand in hand with a full refitting of the venue to reflect the warmth, elegance and intimate atmosphere that is perfect for a core element of both Spanish and Bahraini cultures – the joy of sharing good food. In a nod to the restaurant’s partnership with Bodegas Torres in Spain, the interior has been tailored to resemble the staves of a wooden barrel. The colour palette of the restaurant is now deeper and the seating is designed to be more comfortable and intimate – perfect for a big group or for a memorable date night.

While the restaurant has already built a solid reputation as Bahrain’s most authentic Spanish restaurant, even recently winning the 2017 Citi Fact award for Best Mediterranean restaurant in Bahrain, the new revamp and more accessible options ensure that is positioned as a spot to be regularly enjoyed.

“We really cherish the opportunity to share Spain’s lifestyle and passion with the welcoming hospitality of Bahrain,” adds James. “Great value, delicious, authentic food and exciting beverages all served by warm and enthusiastic people in a wonderful place aims to build on the great reputation that the team have already worked so hard to achieve.”

La Vinoteca Barcelona’s kitchen is open every day, from noon to midnight. The bar is open from noon to midnight, Saturday to Tuesday, and from noon to 2am, Wednesday to Friday. Call +973 17 007 808 or email hola@vinotecabcn.com for reservations and inquires.
